Meet the Founder
In 2018, a life-altering event unfolded when Josh found a blood cousin through a DNA test with 23 & Me. Their families did not know each other, and the discovery ignited a shared curiosity to unravel their heritage. Photos became crucial in piecing together their family history, prompting Josh to leave his job at a travel agency and founded Digital Legacy Studios LLC to cater to those interested in preserving their own media.
With over 15 years of industry experience, over 2.5 million assets processed, and active involvement in The Photo Managers community, Josh's expertise has contributed to the integral work Digital Legacy Studios (formerly known as CCS) provides its clients.
Josh has collaborated with the likes of Make-a-Wish Foundation, Connecticut Fair Housing Centre, Metallurgical Processing Inc, Hartford Hospital, The Connecticut General Assembly, The Windsor Fire Dept., and recently ReefCi Belize. Outside of working with organizations, his dedication to visual storytelling and preserving personal narratives ensures that DLS provides reliable and professional services for individuals seeking to rediscover and safeguard their histories through the power of photographs and videos.
Josh Nelson has led educational talks and industry discussions for organizations including B&H Photo Video, National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO), and The Photo Managers, focusing on the impact of artificial intelligence within the photo and video industry. These sessions address what to expect from AI, how to use emerging tools responsibly, and how to protect security, privacy, and digital rights management in an increasingly automated landscape.
